RITY expands to include Photos

Yes, you read that correctly, after decades of exclusively dealing with footage, we have expanded our business to include photos (strictly pertaining to music-related artists.) As many of you who have licensed footage from us in the past know, for 20-plus years we have built up the world’s largest archive of music footage and have been a leading source in the industry for that type of footage. Over that time we’ve been asked to represent music-related photos and always turned it down as we felt that we should stay focused on footage. However, our views recently changed when we were offered a number of stunning photo archives to represent and suddenly we realized how foolish we were by not licensing photos as well. Because of our vast knowledge of music and the size of our archive, we are in a unique place to offer both footage and photos where others in this industry cannot offer both simultaneously with the same size and scope.

In the coming weeks, we’ll be making a formal announcement with more details. Additionally, we are working on launching an online database where you will be able to view and download low-res photos, but, in the meantime, please send us requests for projects and if we have photos that fit your needs then we will send you lo-res watermarked copies free of charge. Currently, our photo archive is quite extensive, spanning the 1930s – 2000s (see samples below), but that will be growing rapidly as we are adding more and more images from world-class photographers. That, along with over 30,000 hours of music footage, will make us your one-stop shop for both moving and still images of music artists. Of course, our rates will be fair and competitive with other photo libraries.

While music has been our specialty many of you are aware that we also have 7,000 hours of in-depth interviews with the 20th century’s icons of Film and Television, Politics, Comedy, Literature, Art, Science, Fashion and Sports, filmed between 1962-2012. The interviews are primarily from the archives of Sir David Frost, The Merv Griffin Show, Rona Barrett and Brian Linehan’s City Lights from Canada. For now, as it pertains to photography we’re going to stay focused on music images. Of course, any of you reading this that may own rights to music related photography we’d love to speak with you about representation.

Thanks for all your support over the years and we’re looking forward to working with you with our photos in the same manner we’ve always done with our footage.
